Per CHB: Simeon G. was b. at Cattaraugus Co.,N.Y. and d. at Williams Co., Oh.
He m. Hannah in N.Y.S. Moved from N.Y.S. to Ottawa Co., Oh. in 1836, lived there
'til 1863 when they moved to Springfield Twp., Williams Co., Oh. Shown in 1850
census at Dist. #132, Sandusky Co., Oh. In his early years he was a miller; later a
farmer.
My reasoning that Simeon G. was a s. of Simeon(6). He was not a s. of Jason
he is not shown in the probate of the estate of Jason. Stephen had no children
between 1800-1810, nor did Gladwyn, Gladwyn 1820 census at Lorraine shows 1 son
10-16 but this is probably an error as in the 1810 census no son is shown. Isaac first
shows at Litchfield with no family. In 1820 he is at Lorraine with (1) son under 10.
This would make the son born 1810-20. This would leave Simeon G. out as he was born
1802. Simeon (6) shows up first at Lorraine in 1810 with 3 sons under 10. One of
these would seem to be Simeon G. Simeon (6) is as Zimri but I think it is Simeon(6).
Letter from Mrs. Albert Morse: Simeon Gladius was b. July 28, 1802; m.1 Hannah
Cha___ born Nov. 28, 1808; died Sept. 27, 1829, age 29yis, 9 mos, 29days. Gives
children as Ebenezer b. Sept. 7, 1828. m.2, Matilda Grover, b. Dec. 3, 1808, Vt. She
was of Scotish parentage. Her parents started for town and dissappeared leaving 8
children. Matilda was 8 years old at the time. She d. May 6, 1901, age 93yrs, 6mos,
3days. Buried at Bryan, Williams Co., Oh.
Their children; James, Philanda, Mary Ann, George Andrew, Matilda, Samuel,
Clarissa Harriet and William Simeon. Gives Simeon' 2nd wife as Matilda Grover, not
Graves as per CHB.
